It's a tough one. You want to go somewhere to ski, you've got two weeks off. The Internet is a deluge of info, ski brochures all scream your name.
Welcome to my series of interviews with ski- nutters who have spent a significant amount of time and money circumnavigating the white stuff and can whittle your options down for you:
Brett Vale
Ski background?
Professional skier from age eleven to twenty nine. Ski raced from age eleven to twenty four then switched to extreme skiing and freestyle moguls. My highest world ranking was 32 in slalom.
Favourite ski resort?
Hard one. I've been to the biggest ones and some very small resorts. The best resorts may not be that great all year round due to poor snow conditions. The most rememberable resorts are Jackson Hole, Val D'isere, Chamonix, Val Thorens, Aspen, Whistler/Blackcomb but number 1 remains Alaska.
Why the ski fascination?
The adrenalin, the freedom, pushing your limits,
being 'at one' with the mountain.
